We fetch this document again every day and compare it with the version we verified; if the district changes it, the dates here are read again.
Note: Approved by the RISD Board of Trustees at its December 2025 meeting (district announcement of Dec. 12, 2025); the PDF is marked 'Updated 7/22/2026'. Nov. 23-25 are Student Holiday/Staff Exchange Days before the Thanksgiving Holiday (Nov. 26-27), so there is no school all week. Student Holiday/Staff Professional Learning Days (Nov. 2-3, Jan. 5, Feb. 15) are no-school days for students; students return from Winter Break on Jan. 6. March 26 (Good Friday) and April 23 are marked 'Make-Up Day (if needed, subject to change)' (a snowflake in place of a school day on the grid): no school unless the district needs them to make up bad-weather closures. The district's online event calendar shows the Jan. 5 and Feb. 15 professional learning days running through Jan. 6 and Feb. 16 only because they are repeats of one recurring event whose first date (Nov. 2-3) is two days long; the same feed lists Second Semester Begins on Jan. 6, and the PDF and the approval announcement give Jan. 6 as the return date and Feb. 15 as the only February day off. Graduation dates are from the district's online event calendar (linked as District Calendar on the Calendars page): Lake Highlands and J.J. Pearce on June 1, Berkner and Richardson high schools on June 2, 2027. Early release dismissal is two hours ahead of normal dismissal. Audelia Creek Elementary, Dover Elementary and RISD Academy follow the separate ADSY calendar (one day earlier start). Memorial Day (May 31) falls after the last day. The calendar does not state a number of student days.
