The Board of Education adopted the 2026-27 School District Calendar on February 10, 2026 (Resolution 7246, passed 6-1). Every date is printed in the month lists and agrees with the grid. First day Aug 26 for most grades; grades 7-8 and 10-11 at comprehensive middle and high schools begin Aug 27; kindergarten ramp-up days Aug 27-28 (one full-day session; the district's back-to-school page says Aug 26-28) and first full day for kindergarten Aug 31; Pre-K/Head Start begins Sep 3 (Pre-K has its own calendar). Schools are closed Nov 23-24 for day/evening conferences and Nov 25-27 for what PPS calls Fall break, so students are off the whole Thanksgiving week. Statewide Inservice (Oct 9) and staff days for grading and planning (Oct 29-30, Jan 25-26, Apr 8-9) are no-school days. Early release days apply to all schools except high schools. Feb 15 (Presidents Day) and June 9-11 (after the last day) are possible snow make-up days. Student days by quarter are 44, 43, 45 and 41 (173), the same quarter counts as the board memo, which also counts conference days as instructional days (176 with 3 conference days). The district's online event calendar shows the conferences, winter and spring breaks and the June make-up days on the same dates.
