The Board of Education adopted the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 traditional and year-round calendars on March 31, 2026 (resolution 26-10-223, motion carried 7-0 per BoardDocs); the adopted exhibits show the same dates as this file. The adopted exhibit states 170 instructional days; its own grid gives the 172 counted here (the quarter totals leave out the split-colored school days Dec. 17 and May 25). Followed by all schools except Woodcrest Elementary (year-round calendar, separate tab). First day is Aug. 19 for grades 1-12, Aug. 24 for kindergarten and Sept. 7 for Pre-K. Professional development days (Oct. 15, Nov. 2) and records days (Oct. 18, Jan. 14, Mar. 20) are no-school days for students. All schools are closed Nov. 22-26 for Wellness Week (Nov. 24 is a compensatory day for parent conferences). Feb. 21 is a no-school day for students listed as a compensatory day for parent conferences (the calendar does not call it Presidents' Day). Dec. 17 and Apr. 13 are 30-minute early dismissal days. Spring Break runs Friday, Apr. 14 through Friday, Apr. 21. No Pre-K on Nov. 1, Dec. 17, Jan. 18 and May 5. The calendar is subject to revision if classes are cancelled for severe weather or other emergencies. Memorial Day (May 29) and Juneteenth (June 19) fall after the last day of school.
