Note: Document is marked 'Reviewed on 03/23/2026'; neither it nor the calendar page says it was approved, and no School Committee vote on it was found. Grades 1-12 (including grade 1 in ELCs and EECs) start Tuesday, Sep 8; Pre-K and Kindergarten (K0, K1, K2) start Thursday, Sep 10; UP Academy Dorchester's first day is listed as TBD. Labor Day (Sep 7) is before the first day. June 22 is the last day (180 days) only if no days are lost to cancellations; the calendar sets June 29 as the 185th day required for calendar purposes, so each day lost pushes the last day later, up to June 29 (June 23-25 and 28-29 are the 181st-185th days). Last day for seniors is June 7 (170 days). Winter Recess is Dec 24-Jan 1; teachers report Jan 4 and students return Jan 5. February Recess Feb 16-19 follows Presidents Day (Feb 15); Patriots' Day (Apr 19) is followed by Spring Recess Apr 20-23, students return Apr 26. Early release Oct 6 and Feb 2 (educator professional development), Nov 25, June 21 and June 22.
